♥ a saturday dinner at mum's ♥

It was my brother M's birthday on Wednesday so we decided to have a dinner for him today...a family favourite - roast silverside!! We had a chocolate mud cake for my brother...but I know my brother loves brownies so I made a quick run to Safeway (not Woolworths!!) for a packet of Betty Crocker's Triple Chocolate Brownie mix (too lazy to make it fresh today)...and yummy ice-cream too!!

During the day however, my girls were as excitable as ever...Miss K crawling around, blabbing the whole time about everything and nothing, and getting up to mischief...and Miss A walking around laughing to herself, stacking blocks (one of her favourite pastimes at the moment) and laughing at the craziness of my little brother D. Miss A has actually surprised us a lot lately...being more open to hugs and affection (she is normally a bit more reserved and prefers to play by herself). She had actually spent the majority of the day running up to brother M for hugs and tossing up in the air and to Gams (Grandma in pre-school language) for big snuggly cuddles.

During dinner my lovely Miss A was running around and tripped over a mat on the floor. She smacked her head on the corner of a wall and cut her lip on the inside...I have never seen Mr Daddy run so fast to her aid - his princess was hurt :( Alhamdulillah being a cut lip it stopped bleeding very quickly, only for us to realise she had cut her toe too :( Poor darling could barely keep her eyes open after a much needed dose of nurofen so we let her sleep - checking on her every 10 minutes or so. I crept the dummy out of her mouth and placed it on the cushion her head was resting on. A few minutes later Miss K came up next to her sister and knowing how much her sister loves her dummy, picked it up and tried putting it back in her mouth...awww :) ♥ May Allah SWT protect my children always Ameen ♥ She did this a couple of times over the next few minutes. Miss K then went to give Miss A her blankie teddy (anyone who knows Miss K knows that this blankie teddy is her #2 in the world after her mummy!!)...and made teddy kiss Miss A on the cheek!!

Well after a rest for Miss A and changes into pjs for both Misses we were set for the 45 minute drive home...in the (heavy) rain. Miss K fell asleep about half way home and I managed to maneuver her out of her car seat and into bed without getting her wet. Poor Miss A after the drama earlier tonight looked so out-of-it when I was getting her out of the car. After reading to her (I read the 3 Quls and Ayatul Kursi every night) and some loving kisses, she rolled onto her side and drifted off to sleep

And now...it's my turn. Goodnight and love to you all - AO
